My client is a leading and growing high performance computing (HPC) software and services company headquartered near Glasgow Delaware. Recognized globally, the Company combines advanced software capabilities with technology assessment, implementation and integration expertise to optimize the performance of business-critical algorithms and applications powered by many homogeneous and heterogeneous multi-core processors.
Typical customers range from government operations with high performance computing needs to large corporations and channel partners that imbed and re-sell this software/technology. Effective product leadership and management is a critical success factor for the company and its customers.
The company offers technologies gained from years of experience in parallel computing to assist customers faced with performance or parallelization challenges in distributed and/or heterogeneous environments. Their technologies are offered as products and services to the HPC and commercial market. The sales engineer position will be the primary technical resource for the field sales and marketing team.
The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate the company’s technologies and product positioning to both business and technical users. Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.
o Responsible for development and delivery of product demonstrations, webinars, and contribution and coordination of outbound marketing materials to the sales team and customers
o Responsible for representing the product to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, workshops, training events
o Perform technology workshops, drive birds-of-a-feather and tutorial sessions
o Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
o Able to convey customer requirements to Product Management teams
o Able to travel throughout sales territory (WW). Travel 55%
o Able to understand and articulate the technologies, complete demonstrations, and understand and communicate how they are market leading
Ideal candidate must have a strong technical background in High Performance Computing, parallel computing technologies, new trends in big compute, be self-motivated with a proven track record in software sales and knowledge of technology.
Candidate must be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization doing active r&d with an expanding customer base in multiple markets. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports and responses. Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches. Must be prepared for extensive travel.
o Parallel Computing 3-5+ years
o 3-5+ years relevant experience in vendor sales
o Experience and familiarity of our products and line of business a plus
o A B.S. in Computer Science or a related field is strongly preferred
“ Sales Engineer experience often has other titles including Application Engineer, Field Consultant, Pre-sales support, and Area Support Engineer.
“ Position is based in corporate headquarters where all r&d takes place. Remote work locations can be discussed, but significant time must be spent with the r&d organization.
