We are looking for a Senior PCB Layout Engineer to join our team, creating high-density, complex circuit board designs. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our hardware development process, translating electronic schematics into manufacturable physical layouts. Your work will directly support the creation of cutting-edge technology.
You will work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to implement advanced designs, ensuring they meet both electrical and physical constraints. This includes managing complex signal integrity issues, such as differential pairs, length matching, and controlled impedance. You should be comfortable working independently on challenging projects while also collaborating with a larger team.
Responsibilities
Execute intricate PCB designs from concept to completion, incorporating feedback from multiple stakeholders.
Interpret and apply detailed electrical and mechanical specifications to design layouts.
Optimize designs for manufacturing and assembly by collaborating with DFM specialists.
Define and implement electrical constraints, including power distribution and controlled impedance.
Ensure designs adhere to industry and military standards, as well as IPC classes.
Identify and resolve potential design issues proactively, communicating them to the project team.
Contribute to design documentation and support multiple projects simultaneously.
Maintain open and effective communication with project managers and team members, providing regular updates on progress and challenges.
Desired Skills & Experience
Proven expertise in complex PCB layout techniques, including high-density component breakout, blind & buried vias, and rigid-flex designs.
Strong understanding of signal integrity considerations and their impact on design.
Proficiency with modern PCB design tools and schematic capture software.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with a comprehensive design flow, such as Siemens Xpedition.
Knowledge of complementary domains, such as PCB fabrication, assembly, or hardware testing, is a plus.
Familiarity with mechanical design software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo is preferred.
