A high-tech engineering team in Somerville is seeking a seasoned Analog Circuit Design Specialist to lead the development of precision electronics for mission-critical systems. This role focuses on architecting and validating analog subsystems used in signal acquisition, conditioning, conversion, and control across a range of applications.
The successful candidate will be responsible for full-cycle development—from concept and simulation through layout, prototyping, and testing. Projects may include low-noise front ends, synchronous detection circuits, high-speed amplifiers, and custom feedback systems. You’ll also contribute to early-stage planning and requirements definition, and support deployment and sustainment phases.
This is an onsite role requiring presence in Somerville most days. Active U.S. Secret clearance is required.
Core Responsibilities
– Lead the design and implementation of advanced analog electronics for embedded systems
– Translate ambiguous or evolving requirements into actionable design strategies
– Serve as a technical authority on analog architectures and circuit-level innovation
– Participate in proposal development and technical strategy for new initiatives
– Identify and mitigate risks at the system and program level
– Coordinate cross-disciplinary engineering efforts and communicate progress to stakeholders
– Establish and share best practices with junior engineers to elevate team capabilities
Technical Expertise & Skills
– Deep knowledge in one or more of the following: low-noise analog design, ADC/DAC systems, synchronous detection, PLLs, high-speed amplifiers, discrete transistor-level design
– Skilled in analog troubleshooting and performance optimization
– Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout workflows
– Experienced with circuit simulation tools such as SPICE
– Familiar with system-level modeling using MATLAB, Simulink, or similar platforms
– Strong mathematical foundation and analytical thinking
– Excellent time management and prioritization in fast-paced environments
– Clear communicator with strong documentation and collaboration habits
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred)
– 5–7 years of experience in analog hardware design or related field
– Must hold or be eligible for U.S. government Secret clearance
