We are seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Hardware Architect to join our team, focusing on the design and implementation of highly specialized electronic systems for sophisticated sensing applications. This role is crucial in driving the development of complex analog solutions and ensuring their seamless integration and performance throughout the product lifecycle.

 

Core Responsibilities and Expertise

 

The ideal candidate will be a technical authority capable of overseeing the entire process, from conceptualization to deployment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Circuit Design and Implementation: Architecting and developing intricate analog circuitry, including signal conditioning, front-end amplification, and precise analog-to-digital conversion.
  • System Optimization: Optimizing system architecture for efficiency, focusing on minimizing size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP).
  • Problem Solving and Adaptation: Independently navigating ambiguous requirements, proposing strategic solutions, and adapting designs in response to evolving project needs.
  • Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), developing advanced designs, and mentoring junior engineers on best practices and design standards.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential technical program risks and formulating robust mitigation strategies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Leading multi-disciplinary projects, maintaining effective communication with project leadership and stakeholders.

 

Key Skills and Technical Proficiencies

 

  • Design Tools: Demonstrated proficiency in schematic capture and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout software.
  • Simulation and Modeling: Expertise in circuit simulation (e.g., SPICE) and system modeling (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) for analysis and verification.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Problem-Solving and Analysis: Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

 

Requirements

 

  • Experience: 5 to 15 years of professional experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required; an advanced degree is highly preferred.

Location: Somerville, MA (Hybrid arrangement with relocation assistance available)
